Pair your first screen
In Pico Sign, a “screen” is a display you control from the dashboard. Pairing links the free player running on your TV, monitor or Raspberry Pi to a screen in your account so it plays what you assign.
You'll do this once per display. First install and open the player on the display (see Install the player), then pair it from the dashboard.
Add a screen in the dashboard
- 1Open Screens — under Displays in the sidebar — and click New screen. On a phone it's the + button.
- 2Give the screen a name, then click Create screen.Name it after the display — for example “Lobby TV”. That's the only field; you can pair a device next.

- 3The “Pair a device” dialog opens automatically. You can also reach it later from a screen's menu with Pair device — or, if the screen is a panel of a video wall, from that panel's Pair it link. It's the same dialog.

Connect the display
On the display, open Pico Player — it shows a pairing screen with a 6-character code and a QR code. Then pair it one of two ways:
- Scan or link (fastest): scan the QR in the dialog with your phone, or copy the “instant pair link” and open it on the display. The link is single-use and expires in 7 days.
- By code: in the dialog choose “or pair with a code”, type the 6-character code shown on the display, and click Pair.
That's it
Once paired, the screen starts playing within a few seconds. If you haven't assigned a sequence yet, it shows a holding screen until you do — see Build your first sequence.
The player is free and there's no limit on how many you install. Only a paired, active screen counts toward your plan — unpaired screens are free.
Unpair or move a display
To free a display, unpair it from the screen's menu in the dashboard, or on the device itself press Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + U twice. The display returns to a fresh pairing code, ready to pair somewhere else.
